Freebird
Now age two, struggling with finding her place in the world, she has been hitting and grabbing and screaming, my poor dear. We had weeks of this until yesterday, after driving her older siblings bonkers, I scooped her up and said, "Would you like to ride on my back in the mei-tei?" She yelled, "Yes!! Bow tie! Bow tie!" So onto my back she went...immediately pulling my shirt down from the nape of my neck so she could snuggle against the skin on my back, her teeth gritting in delight. As we walked down to the basement together to do some laundry, she said to me, "We fix my sad life."
Oh, that child. How much they understand, and how much more they feel, and so, so early.
Love on your children. Hold them close.
I'll post a picture tomorrow.

lovely
Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

because life has been a wee bit too serious lately
It's also an honesty photo. This is how I look most days. A little bloodshot. No makeup. In need of a pluck. But boy, do I rock those beads.
Have a day today that makes you laugh.

what I do for fun
how to be alone
Once a week I leave home for my "alone time". Because I'm an introvert, I only thrive when I can occasionally be alone to process my thoughts and to not talk or interact with people. I return to my babies and my husband vigorously recharged.
If I don't get my weekly alone time, by Wednesday I am cranky and bristly.
One way to know if you're an introvert or an extrovert is the following:
If you are feeling tired and stressed...which would you want to do more?
a) Go to a party with friends and laugh and talk all night.
b) Go to a library and take notes on what you read.

perhaps I'll try wearing this tomorrow
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, CLOTHE yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. - Colossians 3:12
You know. Because of the beautiful people I live with whom I was unkind to today.

you asked for it
This was taken back in April when we were just moving into our new house...but its the best picture I have of the ornateness. Note the phoenixlike creatures hovering at the top of the sconce panels. I can't believe I live in a house where the species of my sconce panel creatures is up for discussion.
For my birthday it is all coming down, people.
We're not even going to mention the purple rug.

moving right along
We bought a house. A whole stinkin' house. I just can't believe it.
!
The hippie children love it. I will post a picture soon of the dining room, which I have described, accurately, mind you, as "the Victorian Brothel". We'll be renovating.
We're moving this Saturday, in between hyperventilating, changing the locks, and twirling with excitement.

soon
And Christ's life indeed makes it manifest, terrifyingly manifest, what dreadful untruth it is to admire the truth instead of following it. When there is no danger, when there is a dead calm, when everything is favorable to our Christianity, then it is all too easy to confuse an admirer with a follower.
And this can happen very quietly. The admirer can be under the delusion that the position he takes is the true one, when all he is doing is playing it safe. Give heed, therefore, to the call of discipleship!
If you have any knowledge of human nature, who can doubt that Judas was an admirer of Christ?
